Description
Powerful self-leveling cementitious mortar for smoothing floors with application thickness from 1 – 10mm. Produced under certified standard modern industrial conditions with quarry aggregates of special granulometry of high clarity. It contains special polymer resinous mixed additives of highest quality and technology of the most approved European manufacturers, which offer accordingly many advantages such as: exceptional easy to use, long self-leveling time, strong adhesion, reduced shrinkage, smooth finish, resistance to moisture, stress and temperature fluctuations (heat – frost). Certified according to EN 13813.
Use
Used for smoothing floors indoors and outdoors as a substrate for laying ceramic tiles – wooden floors – carpets – plastic floors – resin coatings – pressed cement mortar etc. It can also be used as a finishing surface in many spaces such as, basements, warehouses, storage rooms. It can be applied on various substrates new and old such as concrete, cement mortars, old mosaics, marbles, tiles, wooden floors, floors with underfloor heating, always with proper preparation.
SUBSTRATE APPLICATION
The substrate of application must be thoroughly prepared so that it is free of dust, paint, oils, loose material etc. and capable to carry the additional weight. Possible cracks, holes, gaps or grooves should be repaired with elastomeric gums or repair mortars. Perimeter expansion joints must also be created on surfaces larger than 40 – 45m² and intermediate (especially for floors with underfloor heating). Absorbent substrates should be primed with TECNHOFLEX acrylic primer to significantly reduce their absorbency to avoid sudden dehydration of the material which may cause settlements, cracking and detachment. Smooth non-absorbent substrates should be primed with SYSTEM TECNHICA Quartz Primers to create better adhesion conditions.
MATERIAL APPLICATION
After we have chosen the type of TECNHICA ZERO that suits the application, we proceed to the preparation of the material. In a clean container add the proportion of water indicated on the package (6.3 – 6.5 lit /25Kg for NORMAL 1-10mm) and then the mortar. Stir with an electric mixer at low speed for at least two minutes until a homogeneous mixture is formed. The mixture is left to stand for five minutes to mature and then stir for a minute again to be ready for use. The material is thrown directly into the substrate and spread with a notched trowel or spatula with adjustable tip to the desired thickness. Spread the material in zones and make sure that there is a continuous flow of preparation of the material so that the previous zone is always fresh to avoid differences in the final surface. Finally, in a few minutes from the laying, pass the surface with a spiked roller to release the air that may be present in the mixture. In the same way the material can be applied with a mechanical mortar pump. The application of TECNHICA ZERO LEVEL NORMAL 1-10mm should be done at ambient and substrate temperature from + 5 ⁰C to + 35 ⁰C. The pot life is about 45 minutes at 23 ⁰C in measurements made in a laboratory environment without air currents with 50⁒ humidity. The possible different conditions prevailing at the construction site may vary the above values. Therefore, always take into account the temperature conditions that prevail for the correct result of the application. After the end of the application, the material should be protected from direct sunlight, possible rain and strong wind for at least 24 hours. Keep in a room with low humidity and store on pallets up to one year from the date of production and always in sealed package.
