DECORATIVE PRESSED CEMENT SCREED
Decorative Pressed cement Screed is a material with deep roots over the centuries. It has been widely used since ancient times in the construction of many spaces and objects as decoration material. Built through tradition, as craftsmen with art and passion used the pressed cement mortar in a variety of applications such as flooring – walls- courtyards – terraces – built-in beds, stairs, bathrooms and many more, giving a distinct style that we admire even today. The cement mortar is nowadays in its modern form and leads us to new ways of decorating, allowing us to put our personal touch in our space through its many applications in shapes and colours. SYSTEM TECHNICA, with many years of experience and presence in the European market with quality products, seeing the need to connect the “old with the new ” created SYSTEM TECHNICA ART, a pressed cement mortar in its modern improved form (based on its production method) the past with the future through its many applications. SYSTEM TECHNICA ART is of excellent quality, since it is produced industrially under stable conditions and has excellent materials such as quartz aggregates of selected particle size and high quality additives. With its strong adhesion, it can be applied to many materials such as concrete, brick, plaster, cement mortar, old mosaic floors or marble and tiles, even on wooden surfaces, indoors and outdoors.

Advantages
The decorative pressed cement screed SYSTEM TECHNICA ART allows us to create uniform surfaces with many advantages such as: application speed, since the material is ready for use and only water needs to be added. It gives us great mechanical strengths in bending-compression-abrasion. It does not crack thanks to its elasticity. It has excellent workability and reduced absorbency. Depending on the application, it can give us extremely smooth surfaces that are easily cleaned without joints and bacteria. Excellent aesthetic final result.
Granulometry
SYSTEM TECHNICA ART is manufactured in fine and coarse grained: both basic and flexible, enabling us to select according to the needs of the application. Coarse grained are usually recommended in cases where larger quantities of material have to be applied, since the application thickness may be from 3mm to 10mm, as in old floors or masonry with substrate deviation (always using reinforcement glass). If necessary, we can use coarse as a base and finish if needed the surface with fine grains. Finishing is usually for applications 2-3mm thick, mainly for applications on more smooth and flat surfaces such as walls-bathrooms-kitchens and several other small constructions, since it enables us by nature to process it in more detail for the desired final result .Flexible with extra strength and elasticity is recommended for areas with increased demands on stresses, thermal diffusion, friction and vibration, e.g. floors with under-floor heating, floors in busy areas, car parking, etc.

Instructions For Application Substrate – Preparation
SYSTEM TECHNICA ART can be applied to various substrates such as concrete, brick, tiles, marbles, plasterboards, wood surfaces, but always properly prepared. We thoroughly examine the substrate for any unstable or loose parts and repair them if necessary. On very smooth substrates or substrates with vibration, it is necessary to use the special quartz primer SUPER CONTACT of SYSTEM TECHNICA, which is allowed to dry thoroughly before applying the presser.
Application Of Material
Once the substrate has been thoroughly cleaned, add 6 ± 0.25 lit of clean water to 25Kg SYSTEM TECHNICA ART cement mortar and mix at low speed until a homogeneous mixture is formed. Let the material settle for 5-7 minutes, stir again without the addition of water and the material is ready for use. Then apply the material to the substrate with a suitable notched trowel to uniformly spread and flatten the surface with the straight side of the notched trowel while taking care not to trap air inside the mixture. On substrates which are necessarily coated with a high material thickness or on unstable and vibrating substrates, it is necessary to use reinforcement glass reinforced by SYSTEM TECHNICA to prevent cracking, which is encased in the material while it is still fresh. Then, after the material has dried sufficiently (and before completely drying) depending on the conditions, we then apply a thin layer of material to the surface which we flatten and process according to the style we want to give to the final surface, as the material dries, press it with a suitable notched trowel and while wetting lightly at the same time, in order to obtain a smooth surface. Depending on the conditions of the project, we can create the base layer and next day apply the second thin layer of material that will give us the final surface.
Final Surface
After a few days and after the final surface (depending on the conditions) has dried out, we apply the special TECHNICAL PROTECT acrylic varnish that will completely waterproof the surface and prevent even the toughest stains.

Colors And Styles
SYSTEM TECHNICA ART cement screed is produced in three basic colours: white-gray-beige and is backed by a colour chart of 36 extra shades with ready-made pigments in powder form. Additionally, by adding colour pigments to SYSTEM TECHNICA in many colors, we can create our own distinctive shade according to our taste and make countless combinations. Still we can add to the fresh surface MULTICOLOR coloful joints of SYSTEM TECHNICA and process them accordingly in order to give our own unique result. Also, depending on the material processing, we can have smooth or rough surfaces or surfaces of our own style.
Basic Advice
The material should be applied at an ambient temperature of between + 5°C and + 35°C. During summer months due to high temperature, after the end of the application and to avoid unwanted cracks caused by premature dehydration, it is recommended to periodically wet the surface for 48 hours. We organize the workspace correctly, control the system components, eg end dates, specifications, and use the right tools to get the best result in the application.
The installation must be carried out by experienced workshops specialized in the requirements of the cement floor presser. Request us to inform you for additional information or technical questions about SYSTEM TECHNICA ART.
